Imagine if telepathy were real. If, for example, you could transmit your thoughts to a computer or to another person just by thinking them.

In just eight years it will be, says Openwater founder Mary Lou Jepsen, thanks to technology her company is working on.

Jepsen is a former engineering executive at Facebook, Oculus, Google[x] (now called X) and Intel. She's also been a professor at MIT and is an inventor on over 100 patents. And that's the abbreviated version of her resume.

Jepsen left Facebook to found Openwater in 2016. The San Francisco-based start-up is currently building technology to make medical imaging less expensive.

Always amazes me when (normally intelligent) people actually provide a timeline for their great inventions. As they say on Wall Street, "Past performance does not guarantee future profit." Works the same way in a lab, the past, upward slope of a line on a chart is not a guarantee on future progress. laughhard.gif wallbash.gif

At least that's what I'm hearing in my mind... tease.gif scram.gif

Seems to be working - I thought just the same as you and I'm on the other side of The Pond! laugh.gif

Gunug: Would that be a "Tin Can Alley Cat"? Of course not - that joke is foiled....

I knew I heard a 'British' (fortunately not Cockney, a bit further north, I think...) accent among the many voices I hear.
